Context

During the severe drought of the Amazon River, Super Terminais started operating with a floating pier in Itacoatiara to maintain Manaus operations. A new solution was needed to control container movements in a remote environment with high connection instability. T2S developed a technological solution that ensured operational continuity.

The Challenge

Maintain operations during the drought (September to December), transferring three cranes to Itacoatiara, with reliable control of container movements in a remote scenario and unstable connection.

Objective

Ensure continuity of ship operations in Manaus using a floating pier in Itacoatiara; enable ship-to-barge operation; control unit transfers by barge; and send reliable EDI and reports for operations and shipowners.

The Solution

T2S delivered a personalized solution in JavaScript (Vue.js 3) and Java to control transshipment, operate resiliently offline, and synchronize data upon connection restoration, with automated EDI and reports and a focus on usability.

Transshipment Control Screen: monitoring of ship→barge and barge→ship containers

Intelligent offline-first: detection of connection loss and local recording of movements

Automatic synchronization upon connection restoration, with notification of pending items

Control of transfers by barge, automated EDI and reports

simple and intuitive interface.

Technologies: JavaScript (Vue.js 3), Java; offline-first architecture with local storage and automatic synchronization; EDI and report generation.

Results

The solution maintained operations during the drought, minimizing impacts and ensuring traceability and efficiency between 09/12 and 12/17/2024.

Operations maintained during the drought, avoiding interruptions

27 ships operated at the Itacoatiara floating pier

Over 33,000 containers moved

Approximately 840,000 tons moved

Average of 34 MPH (Moves Per Hour).

With the T2S solution, Super Terminais ensured operational continuity, control, and transparency even in adverse conditions, preserving performance and safety.
